Abstract As was done in this chapter for beams, a kinematic analysis is necessary to calculate reactions of a statically indeterminate truss. This chapter will present the Williot-Mohr method of calculating nodal displacements. Initially kinematic analyses of statically determinate trusses will be presented. The Williot-Mohr method establishes the final displacement of all the nodes, not just a single node’s X or Y movement as is done with Virtual Work, and the Unit Load Method.
