Perception of Proposed Bridge Using Augmented Reality of BIM in Educational Institute—Case Study
Engineering into its new era of digitalization has created the concept of BIM and augmented reality which is primarily used during the whole phase of the project right from concept to maintenance. In order to evaluate whether it would be vital to create a bridge linking the buildings at the second floor of Sona College of Technology, this research emphasizes the perception study of students, faculty members, and others in an educational institution. Using augmented reality and BIM, a bridge was analysed in a learning environment. In order to gather opinions and learn more about the features and drawbacks of creating a bridge between the departments, a questionnaire was created with responses from students and faculty members. A bridge with an arch design was suggested to link bridges on different floors. After being transformed, it is converted into numerical scores, and the survey results under- went statistical analysis before being presented visually in a number of ways. This analysis revealed that there is an increase in BIM awareness and understanding based on a review of the literature on BIM applications. The respondents said that their thoughts were founded on the lack of information exchange. When asked to prioritize the unique features of BIM in terms of priority, the experts put improved cross-disciplinary collaboration at the top, followed by cost savings, time savings, and sustainable design. The practitioners’ aversion to change was the biggest challenge to the implementation of BIM and augmented reality on these sorts of projects allows us to look to have a promising future in this sector considering its accelerated growth in line with global trends.
