Solar Bytes Pavilion
3D Printed Interlocking Modules
Abstract The Solar Bytes Pavilion is a temporary structure that highlights a potential for architecture, where buildings are fabricated using new techniques (robot arm, 3D printing), incorporate smart technologies (light sensors) and are powered by renewable energy sources (solar power). Taking advantage of a robot arm’s strength and range of movement, the pavilion was 3D printed with an experimental extruder and the result is a structure comprised of ninety four unique modules that charge during the day and glow at night.
