Preparation of bases in neocomian clays
Conclusions Neocomian clays are quite susceptible to surface weathering and, being subjected to the effect of overwetting, overdrying, and freezing, rapidly lose their strength. These processes occur especially intensely under conditions of softening caused by the removal of the natural surcharge. When constructing a base, as well as when building the structures, the indicated peculiarities of Neocomian clays should be taken into account in order to preclude the posibility of disturbing their qualities.
