Shear Modulus and Damping Ratio of Coarse Fused Quartz
Abstract A series of resonant column tests (RCT) and cyclic torsional shear tests (TST) were used to study the dynamic shear modulus, and damping ratios of transparent sand manufactured by coarse fused quartz. The oil-saturated and dry specimens were carried out. The measured results were comparative analysis with previous literatures (Kong et al. 2016, 2018). It was found that the dynamic behaviour of transparent sand manufactured by coarse fused quartz have similar properties with those of fine fused quartz, and fill in the properties of natural sands.
