Study on Time-Viscosity Characteristics of Microfine Slag Grout with Hydrated Lime Activator
In the present study, hydrated lime by weight of slag was added in microfine slag by 3%, 5%, and 7% for preparing the grout. Water to microfine slag ratio (w/ms) was taken as 0.8 and 2, and Sulfonated Melamine Formaldehyde Resin (SMFR) superplasticizer was taken as 0.5% to evaluate time viscosity characteristics of microfine slag-based grout. The results obtained from Brookfield viscometer test (RVT model) indicate that apparent viscosity, plastic viscosity, and yield stress remain low up to limiting injection time and thereafter it increases rapidly reaching to gel time. For w/ms 0.8 and 2 at 3% hydrated lime addition as activator, minimum viscosity is observed.
