Control of the manufacture and quality of precast massive blocks at the Saratov hydroelectric station
Conclusions 1. The results of quality control of massive precast concrete blocks used in the construction of the Saratov hydroelectric station showed that the process of manufacturing these blocks, including preparation of the concrete mix, its placement, and compaction, heat treatment of the blocks by internal heating, and efficient control of the quality of the concrete mix and all production operations, provided a high uniformity of the concrete and its strength and other indexes required by the project. 2. The experience of large-scale manufacture of massive precast concrete blocks at the Saratov station and the results of quality control showed that the plant manufacture of such reinforced concrete ensures its high quality in a structure, which to a considerable extent determines the technical possibility and expediency of using massive precast reinforced concrete blocks for constructing large hydrotechnical structures.
