The extremely soft stratum (often called soft soil stratum in Engineering) is widely distributed in the southeast coastal and inland areas of China, such as Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, and other places. The characteristics of soft soil layer mainly include high water content, high compressibility, high sensitivity, high clay content, low bearing capacity, low water permeability, low shear strength, and long consolidation time, that is, “four high, three low, and one long”. It mainly includes silt, muddy clay, muddy silt, and other strata.
