Hybrid technology for separation of oil-in-water emulsions combining coalescing filtration and microfiltration
Abstract A new approach to the separation of oil-in-water emulsions using coalescing filtration and membrane separation has been studied. The problem of membrane fouling during emulsion separation and fouling control methods are considered. A hybrid technology of separation of dilute fine oil-in-water emulsions has been developed. The membrane fouling reduction by coalescing filtration has been evaluated.
