Antenna Catheter Modeling for Acute Ischemic Stroke Therapy
In this work, an innovative Antenna Catheter for Acute Ischemic Stroke Therapy is introduced, consisting of a small antenna- ring, double ring antennas with 30˚ angle, ring surrounded with spikes, conical horn antenna and linear antenna- added at the edge of the existing Catheter. Its electromagnetic field is simulated for three different distances from clot: 0 mm (Antenna Catheter in contact with the clot front surface), 0,5 mm and 1,25 mm. The electromagnetic field simulation is shown accordingly to the primal purpose to alter the clot structure softening it up at some regions in order to be able to follow the restored blood flow. This not only increases safety for the neurons but also eliminates the risk of rebleeding. Moreover, this innovative device results to a great procedure time reduction.
