Dynamical Structure Change During Reversion in Al-Zn Alloys
Abstract It is well known that metastable G.P. zones dissolve partially or completely into matrix when the sample is held at higher temperatures than the pre-aged temperature. This process is cabled reversion and has been investigated from the metallurgical viewpoint1. The kinetic structural behaviours of this process were discussed by several authors 2∼4. On the reversion in Al-Zn binary system, a few experiments by means of small angle scattering measurments have been perfomed5∼8 In general, the process has finished so rapidly that the precise structure change is difficult to be detected and therfore there still exsit many discussions to make clear the whole picture of reversion process.
