A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The extreme conditions employed for solution of hydraulics problems are examined. The reasons for which the most hydraulically advantageous section is rarely found suitable are indicated. It is noted that the Belanger postulate for a spillway with a crest can be successfully replaced by a momentum equation. It is established that consideration of nonuniformity of the lattice simulating a wind wheel will lead to a 10% reduction in the theoretically maximum factor of wind-energy utilization.
