Engineering-geologic conditions in the region of the planned Leningrad pumped-storage station
Conclusion With respect to the totality of all factors the most favorable conditions for the construction of the PSS-UR should be expected within the intrusion of Vyborg rapakivi granites in the field of development of the trachytoid variety of feebly fractured massive-block granites in the region of Lakes Gubanovskoe and Graduevskoe. The area immediately adjacent to Vyborg Bay is situated under almost identical conditions. We can recommend also the area near Lake Glubokoe, which is characterized by the development of rapakivilike granites and by the absence of overlying Gdov strata.
