NOSPR Katowice
Narodowa Orkiestra Symfoniczna Polskiego Radia (Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra), often referred to by its initials NOSPR, moved into its new headquarter building in Katowice on October 1, 2014. The new building provided them with a 1780-seat concert hall as well as a 300-seat chamber hall and a range of practice and rehearsal rooms. Founded in 1935 in Warsaw, the ensemble was revived in 1945 after World War II in the city of Katowice, where it has maintained its managing and artistic residence ever since. Today, it is one of the country’s two national symphony orchestras, alongside Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra.
