Vibration Mitigation of Catenary Bridges
Catenary pedestrian bridges are apparently spreading all over the world. These structures are highly popular as they provide the pedestrians with excitement and adventure. Consequently, there is a need to increase the span length, which might lead to the reconsideration of the conventional approaches. A novel structural configuration was proposed with special focus on the feasibility and proper static and dynamic performance of slender catenary bridges. A dedicated physical model was built and measured as a demonstration. The behavior of this model was also investigated by using numerical simulation.
