Augmented Reality, Transmonumentalism and the Concept of Open Style in Architecture on the Example of the Ensemble of Freedom Square in Kharkiv

The paper analyzes the problems of preserving the historical originality of the urban environment, its stylistically established architectural ensembles in the context of the creation of “smart cities”. How to combine traditional and innovative forms of urban art, such as augmented reality. The purpose of this article is to trace the implementation of the idea of an open style on the material of the development of the architectural environment of the city center of Kharkiv—the ensemble of Freedom Square—and to introduce the concept of transmonumentalism into scientific circulation as the implementation of this style in modern conditions. The concept of an open modern style is unfolding today in the context of the formation of a new digital technological order. This new way of life is organically assimilated by the concept of an open style. It is free from traditional style constants. It allows you to create an environment that incorporates innovation. The aesthetic value of such an environment is enhanced by the new communication capabilities of media technologies. The style's potential remains open to future innovations.
