Indentation Fatigue of Some Si3N4 Based Ceramics
Abstract Silicon nitride ceramics are structural materials with good mechanical properties at room and elevated temperatures as well. During the last years their properties were systematically improved by improving the processing steps, by designing new ceramic matrix composites and promoting the localized bridging effects behind the crack tip, or by development of nano-particle reinforced or laminar structure systems, [1–6].
