An Exploration of Creative Reasoning
Abstract In pursuit of advancing cognitive cities, this article introduces a first model of creative reasoning in a naïve way. Based on ordinary reasoning, by presenting formal deduction, a mathematical structure without too many formal constraints to allow ‘creative jumps’ in reasoning is elaborated. Facets of natural language as well as of human thinking are mentioned to emphasize the importance of creativity in human life as well as in cities, considering the existing imprecision and uncertainty in natural language. Therefore, this article gives the first hints of a possible mathematical model to enable creative reasoning (e.g., in cognitive cities).
