New Strengthening Technique of RC Pillars Using Pre-stressed Wrapping
Abstract The rehabilitation of structures is a key element in the reduction of construction and demolition waste. There are currently many techniques to reinforce structural elements in order to prolong the life of constructions, among which is the wrapping of columns and pillars with high performance fabrics. The reinforcement through wrapping presents some difficulties, such as the presence of sharp edges in the columns or pillars and the inefficient use of the fabrics. This paper proposes a new experimental wrapping reinforcement technique that overcomes these problems.
