Experiences and Contributions to the Promotion of Sustainable Development of UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Unesco Chair “New Paradigms and Instruments for Bio-cultural Landscape Management”, Politecnico di Torino
This article addresses some of the issues proposed by the UNESCO Chair “New paradigms and instruments for bio-cultural landscape management” as part of the webinar program entitled “Dialoghi delle Chair UNESCO”, held in 2021. The Chair belongs to Links Foundation and works together with the Postgraduate School in “Cultural Heritage and Landscape” of the Doctoral School of the Politecnico di Torino. Oriented to research tools for the preservation of bio-cultural landscapes, the chair is particularly dedicated to the study of landscape management models based on sustainability, the promotion of social involvement in management processes, and the exchange and dissemination of knowledge in the field of landscape management. Thus, this work focuses on the central themes of the management of the bio-cultural landscape and the promotion of sustainable development, involving subjects such as territorial monitoring, management of vulnerability and risks associated with the landscape and management of tourism carrying capacity.
