Abstract The examples of ribbed domes designed by the eminent architects: Neumann B., Weinbrenner F., Moller G. are described in Chap. 3 . They introduced to the Western-European building trade the load-bearing systems, still imitating the scaffoldings to build masonry vaults, but also such systems in which separated meridional and latitudinal load-bearing systems already appeared. The impact of the stiffness of the plank floor on the load capacity of the system was omitted considering it to be slight in comparison to the main structure of meridional ribs and latitudinal bracings.
