Transparent Conducting Oxide Coatings
Abstract Transparent conducting oxide coatings (TCO) occupy an important key position in the development of modern device technologies [1–3]. The combination of a high optical transmission in the visible with a high electronic conductivity, for example, makes them an essential component of various types of displays (e.g. LCD, EL displays, touch screen panels) and thin film solar cells. Beyond the electrical conductivity, the closely related IR reflectivity opens a broad field of applications as heat insulating windows in architectural (low-E glasses), security (electromagnetic shielding) or domestic areas (ovens, refrigerators).
