Cathodic protection of turbines against corrosion-cavitation damage
Conclusions 1. The proposed method of protecting impellers and turbine linings against cavitation, which involves painting them with a zinc paint and applying cathodic protection from an outside direct-current source, is characterized by a sufficiently simple technology of protection and does not require industrial mastering of new, special equipment or modification of the units themselves. 2. A check of the indicated method of protection on the No. 18 unit of the V. L Lenin Volga Hydroelectric Power Station for 3 years confirmed the high effectiveness of this method of protection.
