Three-Hinged Arches
This chapter is devoted to the analysis of three-hinged arches. Design diagram of the arch and fundamental peculiarities of this structure are discussed. The concepts of the reference beam are introduced. Two types of loads (fixed and moving) are considered. The analytical expressions for internal forces caused by fixed load are derived and corresponding internal force diagrams are constructed. Analytical construction of influence lines for reactions and internal forces and their applications in case of fixed loads are presented.
