Ferromagnetic Order in 4f-Systems with Valence Instabilities
Abstract We investigate the stability of magnetic order in 4f-systems which have ferromagnetic ground states in their integral valence phases and fluctuate between a magnetic and a non magnetic configuration in their intermediate valence phases. Results for the Curie temperature Tc as a function of the f-level position are presented for semiconducting as well as metallic 4f-systems.
