Developing Tall Buildings to Meet Future Needs: Transco Tower Case History
Abstract The recent years have been something of an orgy for those of us who love the romance of tall buildings. The future, on the other hand, may not resemble this past. While the author is in no sense a “doom and gloom” man, it appears that here in the United States, it will be difficult during the next 20 years to replicate the widespread growth of tall buildings that we have seen in the past 20 years. The reasons for the skyscraper still exist, but they are simply not as collectively powerful as they once were.
