Implementation of the Construction Audit
There is no generally applicable binding specification for the performance of the audit procedures of a construction audit. Chapter 2 showed how an audit programme can be drawn up. It is advisable for a construction auditor, an audit firm or a corresponding department to define its own audit programme. This ensures that different auditors always carry out their audit of the same quality for different objects. In addition, audit results become comparable. In addition, it is possible to make the success of improvement measures measurable and thus visible during repeat audits. Possibilities for this were outlined in Chap. 2. This chapter uses examples to show how concrete audit actions can be carried out for the three audit cases presented (event-based audit, prophylactic process audit, prophylactic cost control). Three different case studies are presented. The examples come from the authors’ practice, but have been anonymized for this book, partially modified and constructed, and greatly reduced in scope. However, from the description of a possible initial situation to the presentation of an audit result with concrete instructions for action, they show a good guide for carrying out a construction audit.
