Information Architecture Design
This chapter presents two approaches for designing the information architecture. Thus, after introducing the topic and its similarities and differences, the top-down and the bottom-up information architecture design primitives are described. In the following section, using the design primitives, the top-down and the bottom-up approaches are presented, along with an example. Afterward, we discuss the benefits and challenges of each approach and suggest how to mix them. Finally, some information architecture design exercises are proposed.
