Hydroelectric power stations in Russian power systems
Conclusions Hydrostations in Russia were also a system-forming factor in the development of power engineering. In turn, planning the development of power systems with hydrostations challenged hydropower engineers with a number of new specific hydropower problems, the methodology and practical procedures of solving which were developed in the last 20–30 years in Russia and, in particular, at Énergoset'proekt. The aforementioned problems include: determination of the total firm capacity and production of hydrostations located on different rivers which are being interconnected; consideration of the dynamics of putting large reservoirs of hydrostations into operation when planning the development of power and water-management systems; determination of the power production of hydrostations in the forthcoming year, calculated for fuel supply of the power system; determination of the effect of global warming on the development of power systems with hydrostations. The main results of the studies of Énergoset'proekt in the area of hydropower engineering are generalized in the present articles also were reflected in many articles and monographs.
