Review of UHPC Reinforcement Technology in Reinforcement Concrete Beams
After years of operation, normal concrete (NC) beams usually deteriorate, which will adversely affect the performance and safety of the whole bridge. Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) is suitable for beam reinforcement due to its far superior mechanical properties and durability to normal concrete, and is used in practical reinforcement projects. This paper discusses the definition and composition of UHPC, the mechanical properties of UHPC and the application of UHPC in the reinforcement of normal concrete beams. It is found that different reinforcement methods and interface treatment methods can improve the bending strength of NC beams. UHPC is a kind of reinforcement material with ultra-high performance. The purpose of this paper is to provide some reference for similar studies on strengthening RC beams with UHPC.
