Trashrack head losses at hydroelectric power plants
Conclusions 1. The investigations carried out enabled the effectiveness of the adopted design decisions to be evaluated, and modern requirements regarding design and detailing of trashracks for submerged openings to be formulated. 2. From the conditions for ensuring minimum head losses, it is recommended that the frame used for the trashrack at the Zagorsk pumped-storage electric power plants should be adopted. 3. A graph and the function given by Eq. (4) are proposed for supplementing designs for unobstructed trashracks where the approach flow to a submerged opening is not normal to it.
