Very tall buildings are becoming increasingly complex. These buildings are cities unto themselves, some with overall building populations reaching into the tens of thousands. This chapter outlines how to provide building occupants accurate information about an emergency in a tall building as this increases their ability to make more appropriate decisions about providing for their own safety. It also describes information sources available to occupants during fires in very tall buildings and how to effectively delivery these messages.
