Rebar Corrosion Protection Performance of Shotcreted SHCC with Bending Cracks
Abstract The chloride ingress resistance and the rebar corrosion protection performance were evaluated by using RC specimens overlaid by shotcreted strain hardening cementitious composite (SHCC), as envisaged for repair construction work. The corrosion area and corrosion mass loss were smaller for shotcreting onto a vertical surface than for shotcreting onto a horizontal surface. Also the corrosion area and the corrosion mass loss were smaller for PE fibers than for PVA fibers, and for low water cement ratio than high water cement ratio. With SHCC, the progress of corrosion into the depth direction was smaller, and corrosion progressed thinly on the surface.
