Free Vibration Analysis of Laminated Composite Plate with Cut-Out Carrying Concentrated and Distributed Mass
In this paper, free vibration analysis of laminated composite cut-out plate carrying concentrated and distributed mass is analyzed using Mindlin's first-order shear deformation theory in the finite element formulation. The composite plate with cut-out is mapped using a nine-node isoparametric plate bending element. Results obtained by the present FEM are compared with the numerical results of other techniques in the literature to investigate the accuracy of the formulation. After verifying the present finite element formulation, some new free vibration solutions for plates with various sizes and cut-out locations, various fiber angle orientations, carrying transverse mass, and different boundary conditions are analyzed and presented. Composite cut-out plates with boundary conditions applied at the outer edges and cut-out edges and applied only at cut-out edges are analyzed.
