Study on Conservation Techniques of Traditional Timber Buildings in Jiangnan Area—A Case Study of Xiangdian of Xiaoling Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty
Xiaoling Mausoleum of Ming Dynasty, located in Nanjing, is the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units and also a world cultural heritage. Among them, the most important Hall of sacrifice - “Xiangdian” has extremely important historical, artistic, scientific and social values. It is a typical case of studying the palace-type buildings of Jiangnan area in the Qing Dynasty. This paper discusses several key problems that should be considered in the reinforcement and repair design, such as detection and identification, large timber frame reinforcement, wall reinforcement and roof repair, and introduces a series of effective reinforcement and repair methods. The research results can provide reference for the same type of reinforcement and repair design.
