Wind Tunnel Tests
Abstract The wind tunnel tests have been widely used for wind resistant design of bridges, because they can provide reliable information on the wind-induced forces and responses of bridges. In this chapter, types of wind tunnel tests for wind resistant design of bridges will be listed and their brief explanations will be given first. Then, experimental results for clarifying the accuracy of the test procedure and consideration needed in order to assure the accuracy are described. Those results form the basis of the guideline of wind tunnel tests described in Sect.Lastly, recent developments and subjects for future studies related to wind tunnel tests are stated.
