Congestion Management in Deregulated Power System Transmission Line Utilizing Evaporation Rate Water Cycle Optimization Algorithm
Transmission overloading or congestion in the network of transmission lines has become a common issue in the power industry as a result of the deregulation of the power system. Power system transmission lines are severely affected due to congestion in the network. The system operator plays an important role in congestion management, ensuring protected transmission operations. Many congestion techniques are employed to mitigate congestion on transmission lines. In this study, the evaporation rate water cycle algorithm is suggested for anticipating and sustaining congestion with the least amount of transmission loss, generation cost and congestion cost. The weighted sum method has been employed to optimize two different objectives at a time. The implementation of this work is done in MATLAB or Simulink. The developed method has been validated under the test bus system of IEEE 30. The significant outcomes of the proposed technique are proven by comparison with existing congestion maintenance methods.
