Risk Management of Pre-engineered Steel Buildings Using Atom Methodology
Nowadays, the construction of pre-engineered steel building projects is on the rise due to their time and cost-saving advantages. However, the construction process is accompanied by inherent risks related to quality, safety, and progress, posing significant challenges for project management. In order to mitigate the resulting consequences and associated costs, managers must develop effective risk management plans and measures. Hence, this study proposes the adoption of the ATOM method (Active Threat and Opportunity Management) as a means to manage risks and establish preventive measures at the earliest stage possible. The ATOM method encompasses a comprehensive process that encompasses risk identification, assessment, analysis, response planning, practical application, and the evaluation and adjustment of the process. Through this research, the cause-and-effect relationships among risk factors in pre-engineered steel building construction will be elucidated.
