Analytical investigation and cost comparison on voided slab using ABAQUS
These days, several research projects examine the impact of voids in concrete components, particularly in voided slabs. The idea behind voided concrete slabs is to replace inactive concrete with hollow plastic shapes to reduce the amount of concrete used without compromising the functionality of the features. Numerous systems use this idea, including Cobiax, Bubble Deck, U-boot, Bee Plate, and Donut. Different void formers with different sizes to varying places on ABAQUS CAE software have been analyzed. Researchers examined a range of ABAQUS CAE software parameters for varying forms at varying spacing in this work. Additionally, they computed and contrasted the costs of various specimen slabs and discovered that square voids separated at 210 mm c/c might reduce weight to the greatest extent. In this paper the parameters used to compare the slabs are Self Weight, Equivalent Stress, Equivalent Strain, Total Deformation and Cost of slab construction. In this researchers found after Numerical Investigations that the weight reduction in Voided Slab was more than 15% with respective to the Conventional Slab and the Cost of Voided Slab was cheaper by more than 10% with respective of Conventional Slab. From this paper it can be drawn that the Bi-Axial Voided slabs can be used in general practice because it leads to overall weight reduction and makes the Reinforced Concrete construction economical.
