Modelling and Comparison of Conventional SEPIC Converter with Cascaded Boost–SEPIC Converter
A DC–DC cascaded structure is proposed which beats the classical single-ended primary inductor current (SEPIC) converter in terms of voltage gain, output power and efficiency. Conventional DC–DC converter requires a greater number of components, leading to increase in cost, space and complexity of the system. The proposed cascaded structure is a fusion of boost and SEPIC converter. The voltage gain, efficiency and the output power achieved by the cascaded boost–SEPIC converter are very high in comparison with the conventional converters. This paper includes detailed comparison between the conventional SEPIC and cascaded boost–SEPIC converter using Simulink model and fabricated model. MATLAB platform has been used for simulation of the circuit.
