E3 model for Energetic, Economic and Environmental Lifecycle Performance Evaluation
Abstract Buildings provide a safe environment for human activities, which means that they have to regulate loads and forces that act upon them. I like to think of buildings as an abstracted version of the human body, in the way that both have to preserve a balance, or homeostasis, between the volumes on the outside and inside of their “skin”. Both do this by regulating the flows of energy and resources through their envelopes.
