Modelling, Implementation and Validation Approaches
Abstract Behavioural models are fundamental tools to predict users’ behaviours and evaluate buildings’ performance both during the design and operation phases. Occupancy patterns and human-building interaction have been forecasted according to several approaches, which lead to different levels of accuracy and reliability. Such models improve their usefulness when implemented in Building Energy Performance Simulation (BEPS) that, coupling specific behavioural tools with environmental simulations, can enhance the results and bridge the performance gap.
