On the application of thin-layer chromatography in petroleum chemistry
Abstract A possibility for a wider use of thin-layer chromatography in petroleum chemistry is shown. New approach to the derivation of the equation for the retention factor k used for describing the retention in liquid column chromatography is considered. To determine the retention factor, two linear quantities that are directly measured in thin-layer chromatography are proposed. An equation for the determination of the chromatographic retention index is presented for the first time.
