CONCRETE STRENGTH PREDICTION IN STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS MADE WITH PULVERISED FUEL ASH
Abstract Two maturity functions, the Nurse-Saul and one based on the Arrhenius equation have been examined to determine their applicability for in-situ strength prediction of concretes made with pulverised fuel ash (PFA). Results from a PFA concrete mix with 30% of its binder being PFA were compared to a Portland cement concrete mix with similar 28-day target mean strength. The strength development of these two concretes in a block (1.5 × 1.5 × 1.5m) and a wall (3 × 2 × 0.3m) was determined.
