Flexographic Printing
Abstract Flexographic printing is a kind of offset printing using a flexible relief plate. This technology was originally developed for printing cardboards or wrapping films. However, it can be also applied to get optical thin film coatings on glass as a result of the recent improvement of machine accuracy and plate making technology. Figure 1 shows the schematic figure of the flexographic printing machine for glass. It is composed of a printing roll, an anirox roll, a resin plate fixed on the printing roll, a doctor unit and an ink-supplying unit placed above the anirox roll.
