Experimental investigation to evaluate the effect of low frequency vibration on performance of vibration assisted electrical discharge drilling of titanium alloy
The present study examines the effect of low-frequency vibration on vibration-assisted electrical discharge drilling (VA-EDD) of Titanium alloy. The experiments were conducted on a self-developed experimental setup. The experiments were carried out by using the face-centred central composite design (FC-CCD) technique. This investigation is done to find the effect of peak current (IP), pulse on time (TON), pulse off time (TOFF), tool rotation (TR), and vibration amplitude (VA). The outcomes which were investigated are material removal rate (MRR) and Surface roughness (SR). The results of this investigation contribute to establishing a relationship between different VA-EDD process parameters in terms of mathematical model. The developed mathematical models for MRR and SR depict the experimental results with prediction errors of less than 9%.
