Pressure Dependence of Tc for Carbides of Thorium, Yttrium and Scandium
Abstract The effect of pressure on the Tc of Y2C3,Th2C3 and two ternary (ThxY1-x)2C3 alloys (all b.c.c. Pu2C3-type structure) was determined. Measurements were also made on the new superconducting germanium stabilized scandium carbide and on a germanium stabilized thorium- yttrium-carbide. The pure binary compounds exhibited negative values for the dTc/dP. Relatively strong positive pressure dependence was observed for the ternary compositions.
