River-bed quarry excavations and their effect on the hydraulic regime of river flow
Conclusion The proposed hydraulic calculation is sufficiently universal. It makes it possible to take into account, under conditions of the two-dimensional problem, the effect of the length of a quarry, its depth, ratios of the upstream and downstream slopes of the quarry, and surface roughness within the quarry excavation on a drop of the water level. As a first approximation the proposed method can be applied also to the case of the three-dimensional problem.
