Raising Awareness of Climate Change by Building a Green Roof in Technical University of Kosice’s Campus
The Technical University in Kosice has the ambition to be a leader not only in the field of education, science and research but also in the care of the environment. The campus of the Technical University in Kosice near the city centre could be an example of a live sponge with many positive effects on people. With the planned project of restoring the university to a green university, we want to achieve sustainable management of natural resources for future generations. The output of the project is in line with the expected result of the programme, which increased resilience to climate change and the ability to respond to climate change within the city of Kosice. The output in the form of a real green roof will contribute, in addition to a clear view of the possibility of mitigating the consequences of climate change for the public and the university itself, in reducing part of the operating costs of the main building. The proposed transformation of the country also represents the currently available outlines of the European Union’s common agricultural policy.
