Engineering Method to Create Restoring Force Characteristics
Abstract This chapter presents a practical method to simplify nonlinear restoring force characteristic which is necessary for dynamic analysis of skyscrapers using the extended rod theory and lumped mass analysis. There are two types of trilinear and quadri-linear for simplification. They are subdivided into a steel structure and a reinforced concrete structure. By this simplification, the elasto-plastic analysis of the structure becomes easy.
